"Maybe the journey isn't so much about becoming anything. Maybe its about un-becoming everything that isn't really you, so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place" - Paulo Coelho
Wanakee is a service oriented licensed social worker (MSW, LSW) deeply committed to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with clarity, confidence, and compassion. As a Black woman, she brings both professional training and lived experience into her work, offering a culturally responsive space for individuals—especially people of color—seeking support in managing the complexities of everyday life.
Her therapeutic approach is person-centered and strengths-based, focused on empowering youth, adolescents, and adults to recognize their resilience and create meaningful change. She has both personal and professional experience navigating mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, and ADHD, along with the unique stressors of balancing work, single parenthood, and personal growth.
She specializes in supporting adolescents through developmental stages, individuals navigating life transitions and single parents balancing multiple responsibilities. Wanakee understands firsthand the emotional weight of “doing it all” and works with clients to rebuild balance, set boundaries, and reconnect with themselves.
Incorporating CBT, mindfulness, and solution-focused techniques tailored to each client, Wanakee takes a holistic approach to therapy, emphasizing the connection between mental, physical, and emotional well-being. She is dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive environment where all clients feel seen, heard, and supported. Her goal is to help clients not only grow and heal, but also reach a place of peace—where they feel grounded, aligned, and more in control of their lives.
