Kiran is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles. He received his Master of Arts in Psychological Counseling and Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University. Kiran previously worked in community mental health as an outpatient therapist and school-based therapist.
Throughout his career, Kiran has worked with individuals who have a variety of cultural identities. Kiran himself is an immigrant who has lived in Asia in addition to the United States. As such, Kiran values diversity and strives to maintain cultural competence in all aspects of his work.
Kiran primarily uses person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy in his therapeutic approach. Kiran is also certified in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy. Kiran strives to create a safe and empathetic therapeutic environment where clients can explore their concerns and foster positive change in their lives.
